Due to an administrative error by College Board, Tahoma Senior High student Corey
Weary was omitted from the initial list of 2011 AP Scholars. Weary, a senior, joins
one hundred and ten Tahoma High School seniors and members of the Class of 2011
who earned the designation of AP Scholar in recognition of their exceptional achievement
on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. Weary earned this recognition
as AP Scholar based on her performance on AP exams during her sophomore and junior
years.
The College Board's Advanced Placement ProgramĀ® provides willing and academically
prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while
still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for
successful performance on the AP Exams. Only 18% of the nearly 1.9 million students
worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn
an AP Scholar Award.
