Maple Valley’s Thompson qualifies for U.S. Junior World Tae Kwon Do Team

Drew Thompson, a junior at Kennedy High School, took first place in the male heavyweight division at the USA Tae Kwon Do Junior World Championships Open Team Trials held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Jan. 14-15. He will now be a part of the 20-member U.S. Junior World Team that will compete at the 9th World Junior Tae Kwon Do Championships in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, April 4-8.

Thompson trains under John Phillips at Phillips Tae Kwon Do Center in Maple Valley, WA.
