Middle school drama students will present the final two performances of “Willy Wonka”
this weekend at the Tahoma Middle School Theatre. Adapted from the beloved children’s
story “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl, the play follows the book
more closely than the two movies that starred Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp. All your
favorite characters appear, including Willy Wonka, the Candy Man, the gluttonous
Augustus Gloop, the competitive Violet Beauregard, the intolerable Veruca Salt,
the unfocused Mike Teavee and of course, Charlie Bucket.
The final two performances will be Friday and Saturday nights, Feb. 10 and 11, at
7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door: $7 general admission, $5 student (with
ASB) and children 5 and under are free of charge. Get there by 6:30 p.m. and watch
the Oompa Loompa parade across the stage
