Enjoy free pizza, play games and talk about great books when you join us after school in the Black Diamond Elementary School Library.

This book group is open to all, but students staying after school at BDE must have a permission slip from their parents. Parents will need to sign out their children with the Children's Librarian by 4:35pm.

If you are in elementary school, take the Reading Challenge! Read at least 20 minutes per day for 20 days in one month and choose a new paperback book at your community library.

Learn basic skills for entering, correcting and revising text on a computer. Prerequisite: Ability to use the mouse and keyboard.

Learn how to select and format text, set margins, align paragraphs and use the cut and paste function. Prerequisite: Basic understanding of Word and experience creating and saving documents.

Successful businessman Richard LeMieux lost his business, his family, his home and found himself eating at "Sally's"-what the homeless call the Salvation Army's soup kitchen. LeMieux, who now lives in Bremerton, used a beat-up typewriter to movingly describe his experience of life on the street. He will discuss his experiences, answer questions and sign his book.

A Strike at the Heart: Historical Memory and Roslyn’s Western Miner’s Union
