10-20-11 – Auburn Trojans

Win after win. They just keep coming up with great ways to score. From headers to solo kicks, the Tahoma girls JV soccer team make it happen. On Thursday, October 20, 2011 the Bears took on the Auburn Trojans, with the final score 7-1. The only score from Auburn was from #9 when she made a solo kick to the top right corner of the goal.

Francine Lowe #14 had a great night racking up a goal and assist. One of those great kicks was a cross shot to the goal at 21:26 left in the first half. The other was an assist kick from the corner to allow Elle Henke, #8 to tap it into the net at 32:58 in the second half. The first goal of the night was achieved when Rachel Stoecker took a soft kick toward the goal and Taylor Clarin, #9 helped to add the power and scored at 35:50 in the first half. The next goal was when Maddie Smith, #15 made a perfect kick directly to the goal and Hayley Warren, #11 finished off the kick with a beautiful header into the net at 33:20 in the first half. Smiles were all over her face for the remainder of the game. Rachel Stoecker also contributed to the win with a goal when she beat the goalie at 8:29 in the first half. Everyone was participating in this solid win. Caitlyn Jones, #16 also made a nice goal with her speed at 3 minutes left in the second corner. When we all thought the game had come to a close, Lauren Amador, #13 the goalie made an amazing goal when she went in for Stoecker with 1:07 left in the match. Everyone worked together as a perfect team, the team they truly are.

The girls had their final Saturday game Saturday, October 22, 2011 at French Field where they took on their rivals, the Kentlake Falcons. Come and watch the girls as they battle for the title. Hopefully they keep the undefeated championship in their hands.

Rain or shine, Tahoma JV Girls Soccer continue to keep the title

10-22-11 – Kentlake Falcons

No matter what, Tahoma JV girls’ soccer team always seems to find a way to win. The girls played the Kentlake Falcons on Saturday, October 22, 2011, their last and final Saturday game. The rain and wind played a big issue throughout this game. But this did not stop the bears from bringing home the win, 5-0.

Rachel Duty, #4 made an amazing goal at 9:15 in the first half in which she made the goal that sent her flying. But she wasn’t ready to stop playing; it was merely pumping her up. With cold hands and numb legs, the girls kept fighting. Maddie Smith, #15 showed off some moves when she turned toward center field, and made an incredible fake spin back toward the back left side and scored at 39:29 in the second half, leaving the falcons clueless. Bailey Martonik, #7 showed power as she scored while rushing the defense at 23:02 left in the match. Renee Hancock, #2 showed the same power when she rushed the left side defense to score later on the match with 22:08 left on the clock. Every girl participated in scoring. This shows how much the team varies in skill.

The Lady Bears played their last home game of the season, on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. JV at 5:30, and Varsity at 7:30. The girls played the fast and furious Thomas Jefferson Raiders. As the season slowly comes to a close, all we can do is watch, and hope the girls continue to keep the title of being undefeated.
