Tahoma Lady Bears came in 9th out of 20 teams in last weekend’s District Championship
meet. The 200 Medley Relay qualified for districts, finishing 13th in prelims. Allanah
Miller (12) finished 4th in the 200 free with a state qualifying time, and setting
a new Tahoma record. Tori Bowers (11) finished 10th in the 200 IM and 8th in the
500 free (state qualifying). Both Anna Pierre (11) and Alex Stein (9) represented
TAH in the 50 yd free. Pierre finished 18th in prelims, Stein advanced to finals
finishing 6th, and setting a new Tahoma record. Stein will swim the 50 free at the
State Championship in addition to the 200 Free Relay with teammates A. Miller, Pierre,
and Jessica Miller (9). The 400 Free Relay team of Bowers, Stein, A. Miller and
J. Miller finished 8th (state qualifying). Sisters Allanah and Jessica Miller, along
with Pierre all qualified for finals in the 100 free finishing 7th, 8th, and 12th
(res), A. Miller will advance to state.
Samantha de Leon (12) was the only Tahoma diver to make it to Districts. She scored
a personal best at this year's SPSL League Championships. Samantha’s scores ranked
Tahoma 10th out of the 20 participating teams. Congratulations to her for this successful,
final season with the Bears!
The SPSL League named Coach Dave Wright ‘Coach of the Year’. Coaches, swimmers and
divers all deserve congratulations for this season of broken records and championship
times.
